What's new? New Customers, New Libraries, New Upgrades, New Software - But That's About It!
There's An Audio Server Riot Goin' On (In Atlanta, Not Cell Block # 9)

R!OT Atlanta, a major player in the Georgia production market, describes itself as "more than a post production studio, [we are] a creative collective where good ideas prevail". We guess that means that putting in an mSoft server is "a good idea", since they just ordered a 5TB system. R!OT's Buddy Hall ordered the system through mSoft's Atlanta dealer CTG, who will handle the installation this month. Hall was recently promoted to General Manager from Vice President, and is responsible for overseeing daily operations and strategic planning. The addition of an mSoft music and sound effects management system is part of a new expansion program for the facility, that includes the addition of HD audio and 5.1 audio post services as well. R!OT Atlanta's impressive customer list includes Turner Broadcasting, Discovery Networks and Atlanta's advertising community. R!OT Atlanta is part of the "media megalopolis" of Ascent Media Group, Inc.

POP Goes The Old Server

Another Ascent Media family member, Pacific Ocean Post, has just upgraded their old mSoft server hardware and added a large sound effects audio package to boot. Pacific Ocean Post was using the server they got from us all the way back in 1999, and will use our current standard 4 unit rack mount P4 server that is expandable to 3TB of internal storage after RAID5 formatting with hot spare drive. POP's Director of Engineering Nick Garside ordered the system upgrade, which will be integrated for use with their AMS Neve Audiofile and ProTools workstations. The additional sound effects will more than double their instantly mSoft accessible FX collection. Located just a few surf board lengths from the beach in Santa Monica CA, POP has an extensive commercial, film, television, radio, cinema restoration and multimedia client list, which they service with ten audio studios.

5 Alarm Music Download Site - Powered By mSoft!

Pasadena CA's 5 Alarm Music has recently launched a new website where customers can search, audition, and download their music, and we're proud that they chose an mSoft server system to do it with. It's flattering that a music library was impressed enough by our systems to want to use one for their own customers to find their music on, and can be seen at http://www.5alarmmusic.com/ - just click on "On Line Music Catalog" and you're there. The new download server sports a look and feel customized for 5 Alarm Music that even shows the CD cover art, giving a their customers a visual connection with the music. The WB Network Gets "Four To Grow On!"

As in 4TB of more storage, that is - The WB Network in Burbank hit the high water level on the storage in their 7TB mSoft music server recently, and needed some more storage so we could keep sending them new music. The WB's Rebecca Newton and Leonard Richardson ordered the system upgrade, and now have plenty of room for their voracious music library appetite - the new 11TB capacity system has the ability to hold close to 14,000 CDs!

Saatchi & Saatchi & Saatchi & Saatchi

Both the Los Angeles and New York offices of advertising dynamo Saatchi & Saatchi have recently ordered mSoft servers. The servers will manage their music and SFX audio, but we're very pleased to say the new Vision Clip software will also be used by the LA facility. It didn't take too long in the demo for their team to come up with a long list of uses for it. A busy ad agency has constant video production going on that they need to find elements for, share, and then archive - Vision Clip is an incredibly affordable way to do it. When you put that in with the audio management of MusicCue for music and ServerSound for SFX, you have an incredibly powerful "library of congress" media management system that will not only search for whatever they need, but tell them what it was used for in the past - a very important new feature that is especially of interest to an ad agency.

CONTEST: (I was going to call this last bit "mSoft Loves Saatchi", but the few people that would get the connection to the TV spin off flop of a few decades ago that I would be alluding to probably wouldn't want to be reminded of it, so I didn't….oops, I guess I just did. Oh, well - there's a free mSoft "CDs - Old School" ultra soft and ultra hip t-shirt in it for the first three people under 40 years of age that can name this show - and yes, we're checking IDs….)

Summertime's the perfect time to put in a system to be ready for the busy fall production season - and we've got special summer prices on systems to match - Call us for more info or a quote!
