In This Month's Issue:

Demonstrating the Post-CD Production Society (or: The United Nations of Music Booth at NAB!)
We want to thank everyone (and there were A LOT of you) who came by our booth SL 3431 in Las Vegas' at NAB April 19-22. If you were there, you got to see something that to our knowledge has never happened in the history of the show - 17 music libraries had their music and salespeople in one booth at the same time (OK, not at the same time, it was a 20x20 booth!). We want to thank our friends from APM, Los Angeles Post Music, LoveCat Music, Aircraft Music, Megatrax, MusicBox, 615 Music, DeWolfe, Selectracks, Downright Music, MasterSource, Ed Wood Music, Groove Addicts / Who Did That Music, Extreme Music, 5 Alarm Music, and NonStop Music. Thanks for your participation in the event.

The response to our new 3.2 software, SoundMiner version 3.1, and the new mSoftPlayer browser compatible interface for Macintosh was highly enthusiastic, and we want to thank everyone who has already ordered. Anyone wanting a quote can still take advantage of the NAB specials at the show, so now is the time to call us at 818-716-7081 for more information!

OK, but what do the users say?: Click here (QuickTime required!) to see an interview at NAB 2004 with Randy Hinderling of New York's Custom Touch Music.

New "EDL Import to Cue Sheet" Feature for MusicCue
As many of you know, mSoft relies on it s customers for input on new features and improvements in our software, and we got a great idea at NAB for a new feature from upcoming mSoft user Jeff Rice of LMNO Productions in Los Angeles. He asked if we could possibly read an EDL file from a production to give a more accurate cue sheet report. Since past software projects we have been involved with were EDL related, this was not a major issue and we had the new feature in a matter of days. Up to this point, our software created an automatic cue sheet from the project list of all the music imported to a DAW, but since all of this music might not actually be used, it relied on the user to update it. The new EDL Import feature has the ability to read an EDL file from the DAW that is copied back to the cue sheet module, which then calls the song and publishing data from the mSoft database - this is then just exactly what was used with timings, etc. Anyone interested in trying this feature live on our online demo site should contact Amnon Sarig at amnon@msoftinc.com for the address and instructions.

mSoft V.P. of Sales & Marketing Doug Perkins to Speak at ProMax June 24rd in New York
We're very pleased to have been asked to speak on a panel discussion entitled "To CD or Not CD" at the upcoming ProMax show in New York City. Even though it might sound like the topic came directly from us, the panel was actually created and chaired by one of the co-owners of the Megatrax music library, J.C. Dwyer. Other panelists include Frank Radice, President of On Air Promotions of NBC New York, and Troy Kruger, a highly respected promo producer and editor at New York's Creative Group.

The focus of the panel is on new and alternative music management and delivery solutions, and will be held Thursday, June 24th at the New York Hilton. The entire show runs June 23-25. More information on ProMax is available at: http://www.promax.tv/main.asp

mSoftPlayer 2.0 - NEW at NAB
A lot of you have been asking for an OSX browser-based audio file player and interface for your Macintosh-based work stations to replace SoundMachinePro, whose development stopped with OS9. We debuted the new mSoftPlayer 2.0 for Macintosh at NAB, and everyone told us it looked great! Designed to work with a standard Internet browser and provide a simple and easy to use file player for sending single or multiple audio files from the mSoft server to their DAWs, it is currently for OS 9, OS X 10.2 and above. mSoftPlayer 2.0 includes a scrub-able waveform display that allows users to select just the portion of the audio file to be sent to the DAW. mSoftPlayer 2.0 will also batch transfer copies of audio files users have saved to an mSoft project list.

This is a new product and as such is not offered as a free upgrade for users under our regular support contract, but we are offering 80% off the retail price of $500 per DAW for any existing users who want to switch to mSoftPlayer 2.0 from any mSoft compatible interface player software until June 30th.
