Caterini Subscribes to ServerSound
New York’s Caterini Studios became the first production facility to sign on to mSoft Inc.’s new subscription plan when it accepted delivery of its 250GB ServerSound 3.0 system last month.
Caterini is a five-bay facility that specializes in sound effects for documentaries. With 250 CDs, the company needed a better way to manage its audio library. Flipping through catalogs of effects and then browsing stacks of CDs just didn’t produce the results the company needed.
With ServerSound, Caterini engineers can easily sort, search, demo and track any audio clip from its established library. If the company ever decides to upgrade, or if it just wants to add libraries, it has access to mSoft’s online eOrder system, which facilitates communication between clients and library publishers. Plus, as part of the subscription package, all maintenance and software upgrades are included, so Caterini will never be stuck with old technology.
“The subscription plan makes it simple for every facility to get on board with the easiest, most comprehensive digital asset management system built specifically for the production environment,” says Doug Perkins, VP Sales at mSoft. “Probably the best part for Caterini is that they’re getting something they wanted for several years – something to boost quality – but at a fraction of the cost.”
Caterini’s General Manager Eli Weissman says the system increases the amount and excellence of output. “It really does improve the quality of work we’re able to do.”
