Music Libraries Show Wares at NAB in mSoft Booth

We recently offered our friends at the music libraries some computer stations at our upcoming NAB booth in April set up especially to show their own music to their customers. There's been a lot of response to this offer to the libraries for a free presence on the show floor, so stay tuned for a list - but we're sure you'll hear about it directly from your favorite libraries as well!

Howard Schwartz Recording (HSR) Starts New York Online Music Search Service

Howard Schwartz Recording (HSR) of New York has had a ServerSound SFX system for years but just recently hit on a great idea: give their largely advertising-based customers the ability to do their own music searches of every production music library over the web. mSoft worked with HSR's team of Andrew Knox, Marty Neuman, and the man himself - Howard Schwartz - to work out the details of what is an entirely new concept in production music delivery: an online search subscription service. A 15 TB server system will be installed in late January to make this service a reality. Anyone interested in features and costs should contact Andrew Knox at HSR at (212) 687-4180 or andrewk@hsrny.com. We are proud to be a part of this ground breaking project, and we are confident it will be very enthusiastically received in the busy New York advertising community.

GTN Installs MusicCue for Online Producers

Well, maybe there's some kind of trend starting here… The General Television Network in MI has just taken delivery of a 11TB MusicCue server system for its internal production use, but will also offer outside producers an online service for music searches. Jay Scott of GTN drove the deal for the system, which will interface with all GTN's Fairlight DAWs as well.

New Rental Offer from mSoft

If you think you can't afford to get rid of your CDs, think again - think rental. Remember: while you rent, all phone support, software updates and defective hardware replacement is included in the price. You might love the thought of not worrying about replacing hard drives, buying software updates, and everything else that goes with owning something, and sleep soundly every night knowing your server system's software and hardware is ensured to work for one low monthly payment! You could buy a system that will hold about 250 CDs, but how about renting it for less than $150 a month? (Admit it, that's probably less than what your staff has been spending on lattes at Starbucks every month.) Or how about saying goodbye to searching for about 1250 scratched or missing CDs up and down the halls of your facility for less than $700 a month?

Here's the fine print: this offer requires a minimum 24-month rental contract and is subject to credit approval. Call us for a quote for a system that's right for you.
